Story Synopsis:

–An ungrateful person, who was never humble to those around him, suddenly was involved in a natural disaster. When he regained "consciousness", he finds himself in a dead city. Realising and regretting his past mistakes, he wakes up to find himself in the hospital and turned to become a better person.

•The story for this animation was inspired by a true story from a survivor of the Padang earthquakes. While he was under the rubble, all he could think of, was his family and the people he cared about, and also asking for forgiveness from God for the sins he did. And after he was actually ready to die, he got rescued 3hours later.

So i've decided to work on the short animation using a semi realistice-cartoon concept with textured background. So that it may add to the feel of the story, and its chaotic/damaged surroundings. I had fun working on this project, both animation and audio. Hope you enjoy watching the animation. =3

Animatic: What if She's an Angel

An animatic made for a project in school with a team of friends which forms Anivian Production. =p
We were given 3 different music to choose from, and were told to make an animatic out of it. So after drafting out our storyboards, here it is.

For those who does not know what an animatic is, an animatic is a form of a drafted animation. It can be made from a series of still images edited together and displayed in sequence or from the storyboards. An animation however is a completed work.

Making some quick update.
Blogger.com recently had a new thing going on, and we decided to test it out. So we're currently making some adjustments to the site and still is.

so hopefully we get this site a new skin. cos right now, some parts look a little misplaced. XD

and that's all for now.

other updates.. well..

We just finished our very own Design Show with a group of graduating design students from different courses and moving forward. yes, we're close to graduation. we're gonna miss that little place we had in that design school. it's been a whole crazy experience and a life journey. from a little seed we were, we had grown into a young wonderful tree. after graduation, some of us would have to go through the "Days of Men", while others choose to either go for work or studies. and hopefully we'll continue to grow and be that huge tree that will grow flowers and bear fruits of success.

To all of our friends that we have made along our journey,
lets keep in touch <3
May us grow to be that somebody that we want to be.

Coca Cola Ad & Ring Parody

The video above is an "advertisement" my groupmates and I did to promote Coca Cola. This video is our final assignment we did for our Video Fundamentals module. My groupmates and I choose to do a mix of the horror and comedy themes. To make the story interesting, we add in the Ring movie character, Sadako. The message we want to bring out is even ghost cannot resist the taste of Coca Cola. Enjoy:)

Audio2 Project: Independence Day SFX

The video above is one of the assignments my groupmates and I did for one of our moduels Audio 2. We were given a short clip from the movie Independence Day and our design brief is to do the audio of the clip. We need to find sound effects and background music pieces that is suitable for the visuals. We used the audio editing software Pro Tools to do this assignment. We enjoyed a lot doing this assignment:)

Tori Amos_ Music Video Edit

This is the final assignment for the video edit module. We were given a Music video clip of Tori Amos, they were basically shots of the music shoot, taken with different cameras in different angles. We were to make a music video, using these shots and any other additional sources . I took some sources from other music video and did this piece for submission.

We used Final Cut Pro for this animation. Learn and used the effects such as chroma keying, green screening, text, fading effects and etc. This work was wholly done by me.

Project 2: The Aspen

We went for a flat semi-realistic style of animation and decided to go for the roto-scoping animation technique and went to the Carlton hotel to film our scenes, which was later used for reference and roto-scope animation.

Audio2: Horton VO Project

This was assignment given in our audio module. Our task was to make the entire audio for any video clip we choose, we can either make a spoof or an original. My team mates and i decided to do a original of this Horton hears who movie trailer. Every single sound, were recorded by us. The VO (voice over), were done by me and my friends, we recorded according to whoever voice suited the character. As for the other sound effect, we use our recording system to record the sounds to make it match the movie exactly.

Moving Images Final Year project_ Friend For Life

FRIEND FOR LIFE

STORY
An old man who has recently lost his wife, leaves alone with his pet dog. Her
memories and the missing of her presence, pushed him to the sad world. His only
relief was his pet dog, which constantly engages him in different kind of activities
which they usually do together to keep him away from his sorrows. One Night the old
man misses his wife badly that he cries all night thinking of her. Eventually he dies in
his sleep. After the death of the owner the dog, feels sad for them and stays in their
house forever living with their memories.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
My animation is totally done in 2d. I used flat colours for my characters and and shading for my background. Its roughly about 3 minutes.

Moving Images Major Project 3 Freedom

Freedom is a short film adapted from a true story happened in Beijing. The short film is in Chinese language and is a comedy. The short film is purely for entertainment. The message behind the story? Hmm... Don't do a stupid thing like the man, in the end is still the same. :D

Story Synopsis
There was a man who has been constantly nagged by his wife for not making enough money for the family. Finally, he couldn't stand it anymore and decides to stay in jail so that he can escape from his wife's nagging. He tried to rob a taxi driver but he failed. The second time he rob an Indian couple and he succeed. At the same time, he also get himself arrested by the police and sent to jail for intentional robbery.

FYP Project Infinite Love

I hope that through my short film, audience can understand the messages I want to portray and understand the morals behind the story. The story itself is common and simple, but I want to emphasize the point that people knows and understand the problems happen between the father and daughter. But some people still make the same mistakes.
I want to bring out the messages and the audience can really understand what it means. For those people who made the same mistakes can use this as a reflection on their actions and avoid making the same mistakes in the future:)
Story Synopsis
The story of Infinite Love is about a father named Teck Hua who is always willing to go extra mile for his daughter, Lynn and sacrifice himself for her. No matter what Teck Hua did, Lynn is never happy with him and never sees him as her father. Teck Hua never gives up; he believes that one day Lynn will understand his love for her and accept him as her father. Lynn never appreciates Teck Hua’s selfless love and takes it for granted. At last, Lynn finally realise Teck Hua’s love, unfortunately Teck Hua died in a car accident. Everything was too late.

It's been a couple of months since our school projects and in the last week of school break, we decided to make a short film according to a theme given in a competition on deviantart which was "What is your Secret Garden?"

Everyone has their own definition or interpretation of a secret garden. So we started pre-production during the breaks and finally finalised our story. However, we were left with the school periods to do our short film and unfortunately before the day of our shoots, we have some trouble loaning the equipments, thus the filming dates were postponed and we were not able to finish it in time for the contest. But that doesn't matter, cos we want to produce something that is worth it to be put into our portfolio.

The Secret Garden short film is still on going. =)

the Anivian Project 1 (OKTO Project)

It is the month of November and we anivians are having our school breaks soon! Its a 3 weeks break and we thought of doing something useful. So we decided to create our very first self-made project! What we meant is, it is not a project that is under the school supervision nor its a commision/request project. I guess you get what we meant.

There was a new TV channel called OKTO and they have a short "program" called OKTO Bite, where works of short animation or filming and others submitted by the public are shown. So if you guessed it right, we anivians are making one for it!

We are still under further discussions about the project.

4 Anivians under Project Involvements

Woah.. It has been about 4 months since the day this blog was made. We got busy with our own seperate school assignments, project and external project, and the latest was a CDI project, where 3 of the anivians are currently working on it.

2 members of the Anivian, Hanis and Kala, are currently now working with other course mates, under a production house called Mediacorp, where they are to produce short animations for the "Go Green" TV program that is going to be shown on Channel U. They were given the voice overs and had to work on the storyboards and animating the characters for the episodes.

16 episodes were given, and were shared among the 4 groups (people participating in the project were devided into 4 groups) to work on it. The 2 Anivians and their friends were given epi2, 6 and 10, and are now working on epi 10. Let's hope the best for them.

Another Anivian member, Hui Qin, is also participating in a different CDI project, which is working on a video to promote the 60 Design Centre.

Lastly, Alvin is also working as a freelancer helping out in editing and as a scriptwriter for the local production houses, while juggling his school works.

Well.. All of the anivians are. That's for the months update. =)

Opening of Anivian Productions blog

Welcome to Anivian Productions. =) We randomly thought of making a blog for the production team so that we could post some of our works and portfolios here. So here it is, though it still needs some polishing. =p And yes, we're still learning. If any of you guys who are reading this, you are welcome to make a request for us to work on. =)

But of course, before that, here are some info on the Anivians.

The Anivian Production is founded by a group of friends and students who enroll in a school of Temasek Design (Singapore), and taking diploma in Moving Images (Film and Animation).

The Anivian Production was made for school works and other freelance works that the team will be doing, including requested works.
